He was born in Cremona on December 29th, 1961. He attended Cremona International Violinmaking School where he was a pupil of Master Gio Batta Morassi. He graduated in 1979.

Since 1982 he works with his brother Giorgio, from whom he could learn basics and specializing techniques, as well as style personalization.

His instruments are inspired by Cremonese Classic School, particularly by Stradivari’s and Guarneri’s models, picking out only first quality materials.

His violins, violas and cellos are appreciated not only in Italy, but also in Japan, United Kingdom and United States, both for the details’ care and style personality and for his characteristic brown-orange varnish color.

He took part to “Bagnacavallo” Competitions and he got the first prize (gold medal) for the best varnish in 1984, the second prize (silver medal) with a violin in 1986 and two third prizes (bronze medal) with a violin and a viola in 1988.

He took part also to the Cremona “Triennal” Competitions getting always good results. Since 1996 he’s a teacher at Cremona International Violinmaking School.

He’s always been fond of music: he’s got experiences in many fields, from light music to liturgical organ practice.

He is director of a vocal and instrumental group, with whom he exercises the same spirit of search and enrichment than in violinmaking.

His aim is to increase the value and let appreciate both the violinmaking and the musical world, characterized by the great violinmakers and musicians of the past.

Indeed violinmaking and music get together in a single art, that expresses feelings and inner sensations that give shape, sounds and colors to his personality.
